Caster Brakes
Step Brake Option
We have long sought a better brake for lecterns and desks
used on hard floors. Caster wheel brakes don’t work well on
uneven floors and are usually difficult to engage if the
casters are hidden. This patented mechanism is very simple
to use and very effective. Step on the pedals and the
lectern or desk is lifted slightly off the floor. To release
the brakes, step on the smaller top pedal. Only very light
pressure is needed for even the heaviest piece of furniture.

Flip-Up Toe
Option
Caster brakes are needed when lecterns are used on hard
floors. We can simply shorten the toe (no charge option),
but that leaves the casters exposed on the speaker’s side.
To hide the casters but allow easy access to the brakes, we
make a flip up toe on a sturdy piano hinge.
