Flat Top
Flat tops are used with laptops, LCD monitors or for lecterns having document cameras or other equipment directly on the work surface. Standard practice is to make a slanted back wall that is at a good viewing angle for LCD controls, clocks, AC outlets and interface panels. The back wall can be partially or completely eliminated if necessary.

Slanted Top
Slanted tops are traditional for lecterns. The 12° slant holds papers at a comfortable reading angle. CRT monitors can be mounted flush at that angle, also. Most laptops will sit on a slant top without a problem. A sturdy stop at the front edge keeps papers, pens and laptops from falling off.

Split Top
Generally there are three reasons to add a split top: The slanted surface is better for reading, it’s a place to put monitors at a good viewing angle and the adjacent flat area is available for laptops and other equipment. The exact configuration and size is determined by how you are going to use the different sections. We now offer a motorized angled section that varies the viewing angle.

Rolltop
A tambour rolltop can be added to most lectern designs. The rolltop locks to provide security for equipment. Our tambour is handmade from solid hardwood. The track is cut into solid wood tracks for a quality furniture look. Wide and deep tops are counterbalanced for ease of use and reinforced with aluminum channel to prevent sagging.

Rotating Top
Many courtrooms and city counsel chambers request a lectern with a rotating top. This allows the speaker to address the bench or counsel, and when appropriate, turn the lectern head around and address the gallery. To make this function stable and reliable, we use a very large turntable and a simple, sturdy lock mechanism that allows the exact amount of rotation desired. Rotation is fixed at the time of manufacture. When cabling passes from the top to the base, a stop is installed so that maximum rotation is 180 degrees. This option can be specified with almost any style of lectern.
