1. Half-Mile Hailer Family
Daniel Sherwin
Team Leader
Crisis Negotiation Unit
Mansfield Police Department
Mansfield, Texas
The Wireless Half Mile Hailer we purchased from you was used on October 4, 2006 to end a 14 hour standoff between a 56-year-old man holding a 4-year-old boy Hostage in Texas. The hailer was deployed by SWAT teams next to the house of the standoff. I was able to communicate through the hailer using the wireless microphone from 700 or more feet away.
Negotiators tried for ten hours prior to the hailer's deployment to get the suspect to answer a throw
phone deployed in the house. It was only after we deployed the Half Mile Hailer did we get a response. The Hailer was used to get the suspect to communicate by flashing lights from the house, back to me while I made contact. I used the hailer to prepare the suspect for a second throw phone which was deployed in a different location from the first one. The suspect picked it up and spoke with me resulting in a surrender and release of a hostage 4 hours later.
If it wasn't for the clarity, wireless application and functionality of the Wireless Hailer, I'm not sure this incident would have ended as soon as it did. We're placing an order for more equipment this week. Thank you.

Bill Dothan Alabama Thanks for the great equipment you build and make available to us.
I was able to purchase a Half-Mile Hailer around 1982 for the purpose of proclaiming the gospel in the streets of America and foreign field.
It is the greatest mega...PA...horn system available.
I have been around the country with street preachers and used a lot of different types of PAs. However the
Half-Mile Hailer is the clearest and loudest, if needed, I have ever used.
I know for a fact I have been heard clearly preaching the Gospel 3 blocks away.
A great bullhorn for many events but I use it to preach.

I received the SW630 Wireless Half-Mile Hailer Kit) yesterday
afternoon…just before our weekly BMX (bicycle motocross) race. I literally
tore open the shipping box, pulled out the big black case, and drove to the
store for batteries. Once at the BMX track, my 14 year old son and I took
everything out of the bag and had it set up in a very short time. A little
tweaking of the volume knob and I was ready to announce our race! The
wireless mic was a real plus. I was able to make announcements from all pints
on the track and the sound quality was superb. This was in spite of the fact
that I forgot to plug in the wireless receiver antenna!. In sum, we are very
happy with the SW630 and it is the perfect PA for our needs.

The half miler hailer we received from AmpliVox for use in our race series will quickly become an
indispensable piece of equipment for us. Easy and quick to assemble, we were able to move and use it in several areas of our race with no difficulty.
The sound quality was excellent with no distortion. Having a sound system of this quality definitely enhanced the day for us and our participants.
e-mail on file New York Road Runners New York, NY New York Road Runners has recently purchased both bullhorns and the new “Half-Mile Hailer” from AmpliVox. We find their equipment to be of superior quality, and AmpliVox to be a professionally run organization, able to meet our equipment needs on a timely basis. Adding the new “Half Miler Hailer” to our arsenal of sound projection equipment proved to be a major success. The Half Mile Mailer is a very powerful and clear system, and shows no appreciable deterioration of sound quality when used in the proper settings. This is an amazing piece of equipments and essential for any situation that requires crowd control. We highly recommend the Half Miler Hailer.

POWER AND GLORY
Talking the walk
From the fatigued expression on this man's face, he must
have been in that position for long.
Yet from the relaxed look on the face of the turbaned man,
he wasn't about to conclude his talk.
The young man bore it all, shouldering a public address
system to allow the community elder to address villagers on how to protect
Karima hill forest near Othaya town during this year's Labour Day
celebrations.
Most of the forest has been destroyed by illegal loggers,
we are told, and the villagers later planted indigenous trees to mark Labour
Day.
That sounds like a worthy cause for the young man. His
labours, it appears, were not in vain. |

2. Audio Portable Buddy
Todd McKinney
Magician Hewitt, TX
I just got my portable buddy today and must tell you guys at AmpliVox that this is by far the best PA I have ever used in the past
21 years of being an entertainer. For many years I used a much bigger system with 2 speakers, lots of wires and it was much heavier.
After having my back hurting after each program from lifting the heavy system, I decided it was time for a change.
I tried some other systems on the market that are also small and compact in size but none of them have even come close to the
Portable Buddy. This system has made my life so much easier. I simply flip the switch on the system, turn on the transmitter
and I am done...so simple! Thanks for making a great product with a great warranty.

I have used the Audio Buddy in a variety of room conditions and it has
always come through with flying colors. The unit allows me to project my
voice and sound from the video projector so every one can hear clearly.
Having worked both in the education and business field for a number of years,
the Audio Buddy is one of the wisest investments a presenter can make for
their organization.

3. Roving Rostrum
Jerrold J. Federici
Director of Physical Education and Athletics
Port Chester Public Schools
Port Chester, New York
We are very pleased with the Roving Rostrum Sound System that we use in
the Physical Education/Athletic Departments at Port Chester High School. Not
only has it become very popular in our department, but in other departments
at the school as well. I have loaned it to our Guidance Department for their
“Career Day”. I have loaned it to our Superintendent when he held a
“Conference Day’ and he needed to speak to a large audience in an open
pavilion outdoors, and of course, have used it for various athletic events.
We also use the Roving Rostrum in our Physical Education Department for
classes in dance, educational karate, and when the elementary schools hold
their “Field Day” on our athletic field.

4. Voice Carrier
Thank you for recommending the Voice Carrier for our programs here at the
Park District. It is so easy to move from our indoor multi-media room to an
outdoor setting with groups of several hundred people. Everyone can hear the
speakers clearly and we often add music from a CD player through the Voice
Carrier sound system. |

We are very pleased with our
Travel Audio Pro and wireless remote speaker. The sound quality and
versatility of the system are outstanding. The wireless microphones and
speakers make setting up in a variety of locations a breeze. During
children's activities and events, going totally wireless eliminates safety
and speaking hazards.
We have used the system in
our gymnasium for sporting events as well as for music and announcements in
an open air pavilion outdoors. Sound clarity and range were excellent. We
look forward to using our Wireless Travel Audio Pro for various future
events including our holiday programs and presentations.

4. Public Safety/Emergencies
Larry Gonnello
Lake Paradise Camping Resort
Prior to Labor Day 2003, Lake Paradise Camping Resort and other Midwest
area's around here had not had any rain since early June. Lake levels at all
5 of our lakes were down. The lakes were low enough that grass had begun to
grow on the newly revealed lake shores. Large cracks were visible in the
earth around the resort as well. Our resort had many Labor Day Weekend
activities planned. Campers began arriving the weekend before. Many outdoor
activities were planned for Friday through Labor Day Monday. As usual, I
planned to travel around the resort making the necessary announcements.
Friday night it began to rain. Correctly stated it poured. It was necessary
to relocate activities and notify the campers. This rain was going to be a
true gully washer. Perhaps you read or saw on the news about the people that
perished in high water here in the Kansas City area. That was our rain storm.
It rained continuously for 40 hours in varying amounts. When it became
imperative to alert our campers of the flood warnings and the developing
hazards the only way we had was to use the Sound Cruiser public address
system. Lives and property may have been spared because of the alert. Some of
the campers sheltering in their RV's had no idea of the rising waters. All
five lakes were full and overflowing. Our swimming pool which is built out
into our large lake was swamped. I relate this event because an integral part
of our warning was the Sound Cruiser public address system. The were no lives
lost and property damage was minimal. Sadly, our biggest loss, due to the
torrential rains, was our public address system. Our Sound Cruiser had given
its all in the effort of warning the campers. We sent the amplifier back to
AmpliVox for repair not knowing how long it would take. I was extremely
pleased with the repair service. The round trip repair time was only 7 days.
Magnificent! Our amplifier was back just in time for our next big activity
weekend.
A big thanks to all the staff at AmpliVox. |

We use the SW222 Wireless Buddy to take new soldiers on bus tours of

seat and talk and everyone on the bus can hear. |

7. Training Room
My Wireless Audio Portable Buddy has made life much easier for me when I
travel around the country doing training sessions. First of all, it saves my
voice, even with a small group and it certainly reaches a very large audience
when my presentations are sold out. I have saved a great amount of money with
my Buddy because I no longer have to rent sound systems from hotels. |

Yet on the following Sunday, when all we could use was our gym for services,
we were able to have the liturgy using our AmpliVox portable sound system
with batteries.

Our restaurant has two banquet rooms, so we needed a powerful, great
looking lectern that could move easily between the rooms. The Presidential
Plus always looks good, no matter how many times it is moved. I’m sure it’s
the wood laminate finish. Plus, it’s so easy to move around on casters. The
sound is great! |

10. House of Worship/Service Clubs
Our Rotary Club uses the AmpliVox Voice Carrier at the cemetery for our

play taps. We can speak and the music quality is wonderful. |

Thank you for replacing the fasteners on my AmpliVox system. I can’t believe
you would do a repair like that for me at no charge… I am sure that I
purchased this system in the late ‘70’s. I have since purchased another
speaker from you and added a couple tripods to raise the speakers. I have
many entertainer friends that use you system and swear by it. |

Agustinian Fathers of the Roman Catholic Church
As missionaries in Peru, we have used the Half-Mile Hailer for 20 years in
the coastal regions as well as in the mountains where it gets very hot and
humid. It’s always worked extremely well for us, especially considering the
wide variations in temperatures that we encounter. The Hailer is powerful and
gets the sound to each the people both outdoors and in enclosures where there
is no roof and no windows. We carry it on our shoulder and, considering the
terrain, we find it comfortable and lightweight yet powerful.

Ten years ago I purchased a portable system for my church…which served us
faultlessly. Having taken a position with a church in the next town, I
realized we needed a portable system. (By the time I located your company) I
was very close to my deadline for needing the product.
That’s when (customer service) came through!… {S}he steered me towards the
Wireless Buddy, which is the newer version of the briefcase I had used. She
gave me a lot of information about the product, which helped me to make a
decision…Then she promised she’d have it to me by Friday… The “buddy” arrived
a day early, on Thursday, saved our church about $80.00 and is just perfect
for our needs….I’m definitely a satisfied customer! Letter on file |
